#1 Dad

The photo is of my oldest son Bryant when he became a dad to his oldest daughter Ceiarrah, who came into our family at the ripe old age of three! After his marriage to her mom, Danielle; Bryant made it official by adopting Ceairrah, who is now 10-years-old and big sister to a 3-year-old little brother.

The silk ivy leaves are scavenged from an old floral arrangement. I often use silk leaves and flowers on my layouts. I apologize that I no longer have the label for the stamped swirls.

imagination

This is another picture of my grandson on my photo op gone wrong. I didn't get a single photo of the kids in front of my autumn garden because the neighbor's puppy never lit there, and the kids went wherever the puppy went. I love this photo however because I can just see the wheels turning behind those mischievous big blue eyes!

The page is made with November's beautiful Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook along with the flower add on. I just love that MCS is now providing that option as much as I love flowers! This kit features Fancy Pants "Happy Together" collection along with an unbelievable amount of gorgeous embellishments even without the add on.

For this page I added a few of my own purchases, like the gorgeous butterflies purchased from Lidia Salas's etsy shop, Breaking Barriers. The chipboard title is by Maya Road.

Ruff and Tumble

Today's scrapbooking inspiration is "Ruff and Tumble" by Jackie Anderson. Jackie says, "My burning bush is aflame with autumn splendor, surrounded by beautiful rose shrubs. I could just imagine the glorious photos I could get of my grandchildren posed in front of them, so I asked their mom to bring them over for a photo shoot. Even the best laid plans of mice and men can be disrupted by a puppy, which is exactly what happened to mine. The neighbor's puppy came waltzing over and my photo op disappeared! Both the puppy and my 3-year-old grandson are so hyperactive that I was lucky to get any photos at all, let alone the endearing, sweet ones I had imagined taking in front of my autumn garden!"

Connor

These pages are ones I did with the leftover patterned papers from Nov.'s
My Creative Scrapbook LE kit. Everything on this page of my nephew in Hawaii with his dad for fall break is from the kit except for the Prima rose buds and the Thicker alphabets. The flowers are handmade using my Silhouette.

Vacation

The photo is of my sister, niece and nephew in Las Vegas. Everything on this page in from the Nov. LE
My Creative Scrapbook kit but the rose buds and handmade water distressed flowers.

My Creative Scrapbook Reveal - Nov. LE

Paige

This month's Limited Edition kit features not only the beautiful, warm, rich tones of Basic Grey's Curio collection, but has several matching pages thrown in from DCWV Mariposa as well. This page featuring my niece Paige emphasizes the romance of the collection, but I also took it a more masculine direction with a photo of my two oldest sons in the page title "Brothers." The papers also lend themselves to lots of fussy cutting, like the bird and leaves on this page, although there are plenty of embellishments in this gorgeous kit, including the Prima flowers you see here.

Family Traditions

The photo on this page is of my on my 40th birthday. The handkerchief is a family heirloom of sorts. My grandmother gave it to my mother to carry on her walk down the isle when she married my dad, and my mom gave it to me to carry on my wedding day. Since I don't have a daughter, I am saving this page to give to my oldest grand daughter on her wedding day.

The flowers are handmade using the water distress method and the butterfly is cut from the patterned paper.

Beauty

This page features my beautiful future daughter-in-law, Astrid.

Lovely
My lovely sister, Catherine and her equally beautiful partner Brooke.

Brothers

My two oldest sons, Bryant and Ben, on a picnic up Huntington Canyon in the Autumn of 2006.

To make this swirl I used a pattern I scanned from a Prima swirl, a pin and some puffy glue.

First tape your pattern onto the page where you want your swirl using originally repositionable adhesives.

Than poke holes in the page following the taped on pattern. Remove the pattern and apply the puffy glue.

Opinions Fuel Feud

Jackie Anderson's "Opinions Fuel Feud" layout is today’s scrapbook inspiration. The swirly leaves on Jackie's page are a gift from Betty, one of Jackie's scrapbook friends.

Jackie says:
The photo is of me when I was a reporter for our local newspaper preparing to go underground for a story on a local coal mine. I was undergoing safety training with the required safety goggles and self- rescue breathing device. I would later also don coveralls, a hard hat, and boots.

The article is one that appeared in our state's largest newspaper after I was fired for taking an anti-war position and insisting that my opinion piece run beside those of other staff members who supported a military response to terrorism. My column called for a police response utilizing the United Nations. I stood on principle and it cost me a job that I loved and my belief in a functioning free press, but it remains one of my proudest moments.
