Double Trouble

BEAUTIFUL PAIGE


No, you are not seeing double! I don't know if I am the only one who scrapbooks in my sleep, but I woke up in the middle of the night remembering this adorable photo of our little Paige-a-Roo when she was just 4-years-old that is so similar to this one I took of her before her college graduation and I knew I had to scrapbook them together. Sometimes what I dream is pretty far-fetched in the light of day, but I was right on with these photos together, and so I scanned the old picture so I could do more than one page. One of these is for Paige's album, one for her mom, my sister, and you can look forward, (or not), to two more pages in different paper collections: one for Paige's grandma, my mom, and one for me! Actually, now that I think about it, when I am done with all 4 I'll let you choose which one's you want; first call... first choice!

Both of these pages feature the appropriately named "Life's Portrait" collection from Webster's Pages. The butterflies were scanned from another WP collection, hand cut, and then enhanced with Stickles.




The flowers are by Prima. The alphabets and word stickers are also part of the WP collection. The border punch is by Martha Stewart.


I used a ruler to measure the frame and cut it out as one whole piece using a craft knife so that the remaining pieces could be used in the second page shown below. I also used my craft knife to cut around the corner pattern of the paper so I could insert the frame beneath it and then added the WP cameo, which is layered on pink card stock which I cut around with Fiskars scissors and then doodled the black dots.

TIME FLIES

This is the second page also featuring the "Life's Portrait" collection by Webster's Pages.


The corner swirls are Silhouette cuts that I colored using English Ivy Glimmer Mist and then enhanced with Stickles. The flowers are by Prima. The "sparklers" are also by WP, and I hand cut the blue floral spray from a sheet of WP pp.



The alphas, trims, cameo and sticker are all from the gorgeous "Life's Portraits" collection.

BFFs

I used the last sheet of double sided pp from the Glitz Design "Audrey" collection for this layout of Ash, Alex and Paige. The journaling, lamp post and shadow bench are all Silhouette cuts that I used as masks and then glimmer misted on a sheet of pale pink K@C recycled card stock. The flourish, bench and title are also Silhouette cuts. I hand cut the butterflies from the pp, then glued them to the page and added clear glitter Stickles. The flowers are a combination of Petaloo, Prima, and punched flowers from the pp with Creative Imaginations jewel brads for the centers.

GLAM

As long as I had all these pps and matching embellies out I figured I might as well finish them off, and what better way than with this glamorous version of the Three Musketeers... niece Paige and her two BFFs Ashlyn and ReAnn?



The papers are Glitz Design "Audrey" collection. I added some clear Stickles to the butterflies and flowers for even more "GLAM!" I cut out the butterfly that would have been covered by the photo with a craft knife, folded its wings, added a gel drop (misplaced brand name) and Stickles and reattached it. The title is Thickers. I cut the border with Fiskars "Deckle long" scissors.

The flowers are a combination of Prima "botanical mix," Heidi Swapp gel blossoms and black card stock punched with McGill Craftivity and Martha Stewart flower punches. The flower centers and accents on the border are Creative Imaginations brads. I also used a Signo white gel pen for accents.

HOT

This is one of Astrid's profile photos that I lifted from facebook. See! Privacy is an issue!! LOL! I'm hoping that she doesn't mind that I titled it "hot" since that is one of the first things I heard about her from my son Ben when they started "not dating!" (inside joke) I also heard how smart, sweet and fun she is, all which proved to be true! My sons sure have excellent taste in women!

I also chose "hot" as the title because it fit this color palette so well, along with fitting into my design space. These are papers that I have had in my stash for awhile. I got them out thinking they would be perfect for some of Paige's graduation pix, which they weren't, but this photo was perfect! The patterned papers are by Glitz Design and are from the "Audrey" collection.


I used several Martha Stewart border punches and Fiskars scissors to cut around the circle. I then used a white Signo pen to doodle the dots. This is a technique I picked up from the oh-so-talented Gabrielle Pallacco, along with so many others.

The fabulous flowers are Petaloo "Daisy Layers" that I layered over Prima flowers to help give them some lift and to better show them off against the patterned paper. The black lace is also by Prima. The flourishes are final touch - clearly stickers by Karen Foster. The title is Thickers.

You may remember my mentioning my dear friend Bettylou who loaded up on lace, trim and ribbon at a craft store's going out of business sale. It is worth mentioning once more that most of the trims you are seeing on my pages are a result of her generosity!

The black flower centers are rub-ons whose brand name I have forgotten, with a brad in the center. The gorgeous green lace is by Prima. The small scalloped edges are done with Fiskars deco-edge scissors and then doodled with a white Signo pen.

Life is full of beauty.

This is my son Ben, who rode the cable car to the top of the mountain to get the best view of Bogota only to be engulfed by fog! But what a fabulous photo it made don't you think?

I trimmed the black swirl paper to the center width of the overlay and attached both to white card stock so the gorgeous color and design in the frame would be more visible. I cut the title and blue swirl from one of the journal cards to better fit my design. I used my craft knife to cut slits for the lace to fit through on the edges and attach to the back of the page to give it a more finished look. The pink flowers are also made by Prima.

Time for sneak peeks at My Creative Scrapbook

It has been such a blast working with the fabulous Limited Edition kits and awesome design team at MY CREATIVE SCRAPBOOK as a guest designer these past few months. Today is sneak peek day, and I can hardly wait for everyone to see the final reveal on the 5th because of the gorgeous kits and examples the team has put together! They will blow your socks off! I still have to pinch myself to make sure working along side my favorite artists is not a dream!
