1-2-3... Cheese!

I'm still practicing on multipic pages! This one, however; has a lot of bulk from my homemade flowers. It is of my younger sister, Catherine, and brother, Eric, in Tombstone on a family outing.

Tombstone Arizona
Pop. 1,504 · Elev. 4,540'

Allen Street 2008

"The Town too Tough to Die," Tombstone was perhaps the most renowned of Arizona's old mining camps. When Ed Schieffelin (SHEF·e·lin) came to Camp Huachuca (hwah·CHEW·kuh) with a party of soldiers and left the fort to prospect, his comrades told him that he'd find his tombstone rather than silver. Thus, in 1877 Schieffelin named his first claim the Tombstone, and rumors of rich strikes made a boomtown of the settlement that adopted this name.

Needles Hike

These are photos that my sister sent me recently of what she described as a 2 mile hike that took she and Brooke 8 hours to hike. I'm assuming, since it was in Nov. and they are dressed in shorts, that it is in Arizona somewhere.

I am trying, for the sake of space, to do more multipic pages with less bulk. It is very hard for me and I'm not good at it, but maybe with practice!

"Remember This"

"Remember This" by Jackie Anderson is today’s scrapbook inspiration. Jackie says, "In August of 2007 the world watched as Crandall Canyon coal mine owner Bob Murray took news crews underground to observe the rescue effort as mine rescue teams tried desperately to save coal miners trapped more than 28,000 feet underground in one of the most televised mine disasters in history. The men who died there, both in the original collapse and the subsequent rescue effort, were co-workers of my husband, who is pictured standing at the trailhead that leads to the gravestones of the men who remain buried in the sealed off mine where he worked for nearly six years. We hiked that trail two weeks ago to visit the sacred site that was surrounded by the changing leaves of Autumn."

The butterfly on "Remember This" was hand-cut from patterned paper and the flowers are handmade. Make beautiful flowers like Jackie's by following the instructions in her tutorial, and visit her blog and gallery to see more of her wonderful scrapbook pages.

Journaling:
"Sept. 2010. 3 years after... we visitied Genwall and the grave stones of the men who died there and were never recovered."

Enjoy the Journey

These are the memories I love of my parents. Here they are putting on their rain gear on an annual family camp out of the Boulders.

I have had this page in my files for awhile and forgot about it until I was searching for something else, so I don't have the product tags. I know the papers are KaiserCraft and the flowers are Prima. The die cuts are Silhouette files.

Seek

The treasure my son Ben is seeking at the fabled El Dora-do in Colombia is not the legend gold and jewels as the bottom of the lake, but rather the approval of his girlfriend's family to marry her. Happily, they extended it very graciously and my son will marry Astrid in May.

Pretty as a Picture

"Pretty as a Picture" by Jackie Anderson is today’s scrapbook inspiration. Jackie says, "The photo is of my niece, Paige, and two of her college friends on campus at University of Arizona. I used the package backing of Prima flowers layered over red cardstock for a photo mat. I also added dimension to my page by lifting the title piece with cardboard glued to the back. The little pop-up rose embellishment on the title piece is hand-cut from the background."

Stop by Jackie's blog and gallery to see more of her extraordinary layouts.

MCS Main Kit for October

LOVE

These are two of my favorite women in the whole world, my niece Paige and my sister Catherine. They had just returned to their hotel from a day of shopping in San Fransisco where they were celebrating Paige's 21st birthday. That was 2 years ago already. Where does the time go?

I just love it when my My Creative Scrapbook kits arrive. I was fortunate enough to be asked to guest design through the year, and this month I got to design with the gorgeous LE kit. This MK is subscription, but hope you like it nonetheless! It is just full of gorgeous Crate Paper "Restoration" collection papers (2 of each), diecuts, and stickers. It also has matching trims that Pam always picks out so well, and doodle bug alphabets. But best of all is the assortment of Prima flowers! WOW! And if you get the add-on, like I did, you have enough flowers for 6 or more layouts with some to spare!

FAMILY
