THAT LOOK

Because I stole this photo of my future daughter-in-law from her face-book page, I don't know, but strongly suspect that my son took it because this is the look I have seen her give him so often; one that assures me that she is the right girl for him. With this look, I can almost hear the beautiful Colombian inflection in her voice when she says: "Bieeeen!" It is the look that makes me confident that she is the right woman for my son; that she loves him the way a mother wants her son to be loved.

This page is made with the March main kit from My Creative Srapbook, that was full of Prima goodies from the Strawberry Kisses line. I began by weaving the ribbon, and since I don't have the punch that makes it easy, I used a ruler, pencil and craft knife. I taped the end of my ribbon to make it easier to thread through the paper.

Next I mounted my picture, punching the corner work from a scrap of pp with Martha Stewart's floral lace border punch. I then attached them both to dark brown Bazzil card stock to make it stand out and draw attention to the beautiful photo.

Something that I like to do is take patterned paper and cut out the elements to rearrange on my page for an individual look that accents my photo. I also cut into the grouped flowers while leaving the whole in tact so I could insert my picture, giving a more layered effect.

After inserting the photo in the cut lines of my flowers, I layer the individual cut flowers over the photo, adding the Prima "Innocence" large white bloom as the crowning touch.

I then finished by embellishing my page. I cut the bird cage with my Silhouette and added the handmade rose. The tutorial can be found at: http://www.scrapbook.com/galleries/84905/view/2551471/-1/1.html and is offered by the very talented gabriellep. I then added more cut out flowers to the bird cage, the title, using both Prima and KaiserCraft alphabet stickers, and some Prima chipboard embellishments. The "beautiful" rub on is made by Cosmos Cricket.

Thanks so much for taking a look.
