It has been my experience that generally speaking, women tend to hold on to their friendships more tightly and for longer than men. This friendship of my son's is an exception. He and Nick have been friends since high school, and no matter how much time or distance separates them, the friendship continues.
While the K&Company Susan Winget "Nature" collection of papers and embellishments I have been using is generally very feminine, it can also be used in a more masculine layout, though you will be hard pressed to find one of my layouts without flowers! These are Prima trellis roses. I must apologize that I no longer possess the manufacturer's name for the rub ons. The border punch is by Martha Stewart.
I used the following sketch by the talented Liz Qualman also known at Scrapbook.com as Q-diggity, where you can locate her blog and more of her fabulous sketches.

This layout is simple but ever so beautiful. Just love it!
I love the colours you used here Jackie, and it always amazes me how you can indeed pull it off to use flowers and still manage to create a masculine LO ... job well done!
